I had NO IDEA there are 2 personal Hawaiian Airlines credit cards š®
Here they are...
Hawaiian AirlinesĀ® World Elite MastercardĀ®
Hawaiian AirlinesĀ® Bank of Hawaii World Elite MastercardĀ®
Only 1 is cobranded with Bank of Hawaii, but BOTH are issued by Barclays.
They also look the virtually the same; both come in 2 designs that you can choose from.
Now here's the cool thing...
These 2 cards are considered to be separate products, so you can get approved for both!
In fact, I did just that. Here are my data points...
Card 1: Hawaiian AirlinesĀ® World Elite MastercardĀ®
Offer: Earn 70K HawaiianMiles after spending $1,000 in the first 90 days.
Date Applied:Ā Ā 3/04/2025
Location:Ā Ā Dallas, TX area
Bureau Pulled: TransUnion (TU)
Inquiries: Ā 2 (TU)
Recently Opened Accounts:Ā 6/24
Preexisting Relationship:Ā Ā 2 Barclays Cards (1 personal = AAdvantage Aviator | 1 business = Wyndham Earner Business)
Result: Ā APPROVED!
Limit: Ā $17,000
Card 2: Hawaiian AirlinesĀ® Bank of Hawaii ('BOH') World Elite MastercardĀ®
NOTE: I applied for this card immediately after the first Hawaiian Card 1 above. The data points below now include that account being opened.
Offer:Ā Ā Earn 70K HawaiianMiles after making your first purchase in the first 90 days.
Date Applied:Ā Ā 3/04/2025
Location:Ā Ā Dallas, TX area
Bureau Pulled: None! Likely would've been TU again, but I didn't receive a 2nd hard pull.
Inquiries: Ā 3 (TU)
Recently Opened Accounts:Ā "7/24" (6/24 would have actually shown on my credit report since Hawaiian Card 1 above had not reported yet)
Preexisting Relationship:Ā Ā 3 Barclays Cards (2 personal = AAdvantage Aviator, Hawaiian Airlines WEMC | 1 business = Wyndham Earner Business)
Result: Ā Denied > Pending > APPROVED!*
Limit: Ā $10,000**
*Here's what happened. My application for this 2nd Hawaiian Airlines 'BOH' Card was initially denied by the system without a credit pull. I called the Barclays Reconsideration Line at (866) 408-4064 and verified basic info, including: last 4 of social, birthday, and income. The agent asked what I did for work, said I ran my own business and provided the estimated revenue for the year.
**The application was then conditionally approvedĀ provided I was willing to reallocate credit from another card I had (Barclays called this a credit 'redistribution'). I agreed to move $10K from my AAdvantage Aviator card in order to open the 2nd Hawaiian Airlines 'BOH' card, and the result was an approval! š
