There isn't an 'order rule' that you need to follow with Citi as you would with Amex (whereby it matters for signup bonuses). I'd personally go for the highest, most meaningful welcome offer + benefits first (for me that'd be the Citi Strata Premier right now). Then I'd add additional cards with smaller welcome offers / no annual fee but good reward multipliers.
Typically, you can apply for 1 Citi card (personal or business) every 8 days. Additionally, you can get up to 2 cards in a 65-day period. Finally, you can get 1 business card every 90 days. It’s possible that exceptions are made, but these are general guidelines. I’d personally put 30+ days between my 1st and 2nd Citi cards.
Right. It's not a 'family rule' whereby you need to get cards in a certain order. With Citi, it's common to have an 'individual card rule.' For example, with the Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select Card, the terms say the following:"American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® account in the past 48 months or if you converted another Citi credit card account on which you earned a new account bonus in the last 48 months into a Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® account."

Thanks for the reply Mark. Really appreciate it.
Not sure how this ended up in city when I replied to C1 thread. Moving...
